This guys rock !! not only because their musical genre classifies to me as “groovy indeed” but their stage presence is strong, energetic and cool. I was able to see these guys performing on a series of free concerts on dundas square every Friday during the summer.
As I am a man of less words and more images I let the editors of YDS do their “media thingy”; the excerpt comes from their media package
Bobby Dreadfull plays timeless funk with a dash of afrobeat and is reminiscent of performers such as James Brown and Prince with his high falsetto, unbridled energy and crazy dance moves! Bobby’s videos for singles ‘Get Down’ and ‘Za Za Ze’ were voted as videoFACTs favourite picks and are still in rotation on MuchMusic. The upcoming single ‘Oh No’ features Virgin Music recording artist Kardinal Offishall! Dreadfull has been ripping up spots at recent club shows and festivals. If you’ve been to a Bobby Dreadfull show and you didn’t sweat… you were obviously still outside waiting to get in.
I will do my very best in order to accommodate some time to work on a project that I’ve decided to title “My Toronto Series”
starting with summer nights…Sadly this first series were taken on the same tragic night that Michael Jackson died… I’ll miss you Michael
enjoy the photos
For the last couple of nights I’ve been eager testing my new Nikon D700 and a couple of Full Frame lenses that I had reserved for it, namely a reliable 24-120mm, which despite of not being a professional grade lenses, has always keep me happy because of the clarity and sharpness -corner to corner – .
For this test I have used a B1600 (from AlienBees) and attached to it a 48″ brolly box plus a reliable portable power (Vagabond II), lights were fired using the second generation of cybersync transmitter/receivers.
Overall , really impress how the D700 nails it and performs, we had fun doing this test shots and reviewing the details later in CS3, sharp, solid colors and easy to work. I’m looking forward to the summer sessions for my ongoing photo project ( casting still open).
have fun end enjoy the pictures.
Gerardo.
So I’ve been working on a couple of designs for some time now and finally I feel that i can narrow my choice to this template, but in 2 versions and 4 different colors; I can’t really decide on which one to go for, yet I kind of love the burgundy-flowery-thingy. So here are the versions and colors for you to help me choose, I have to decide by the 12th of June… so the poll will be open ’till then.
If you want to have a chance to win the headshot session, make sure you leave a comment including your email or contact number
cheers,
Gerardo

Some time ago, I had an opportunity to assist with a great concert by the guys and gals of Red Handed Denial. It was, as a matter of fact, the very first time I saw them live. No taller than 5?6? RHD’s lead vocalist, Lauren, would amaze anyone who saw her on and off stage; a total transformation. On stage, Lauren would take on a role very different than your conventional teenager. Empowering performance…striking voice -like a bear’s roar coming out of the deepest cave – this petite chick will make anyone wonder where she can pull that much strength and tenacity from.

Also, I had a chance to see the guys from sayDIEmichelle. Awesome lead vocalist and mind blowing overall performance. It reminded me of one of my favorite bands, Linkin Park. Of course, I have attached some concert photos for you to enjoy
Cheers

So, not too long ago I had a chance to go out and see my friend Mike doing what he likes best when the night comes…yes he likes playing music … more precisely playing one of his guitars !
The place lighting was terrible as usual, so I took advantage of using my 50 1.4 mm and pushing the ISO up to 4000. I enjoyed the music, I certainly enjoyed my beer “dos equis” and saw this amazing folks being passionate about rock !!
enjoy the photos !!
